I am still going to check out some highrises in Long Beach though also. So maybe somewhere inland is best after all. Then again, I think there's some real issues with noise that I've experienced so far in my sublet - such as the garbage trucks loading up for upwards of 20 minutes every morning, the noises of morning traffic, etc. I'd considered places like Downey, Pico Rivera, and Montebello, but then I feel what's the point in paying the higher rent when for just a bit higher one could be in a more active location. So far I've seriously considered Long Beach and areas in West LA. I am also in the process of setting up a place to stay.
